Web Developer

Location: Remote (US-based)

We have a long term remote contract for a Remote Web Developer with our direct health insurer client. We are looking for a self-motivated web developer to fill a combined role of both front end and back end development tasks, including developing lightweight front end websites to work in conjunction with backend API’s and Web Services using MVS frameworks and custom written libraries.

Backend: Python3.6, php7.2, php8, NodeJS v12

Frontend: Typescript/ES6, Vanilla JavaScript

Frameworks: Laravel6, Angular9

The Developer’s primary responsibilities are to analyze, design, implement and test customized software applications. The Developer should have essential knowledge of software development and design, be a quick learner, and have a drive to refine themself by adopting new development skills. The Developer should be flexible and willing to learn new programming skills and should be able to migrate existing solutions from one development stack to another based on organization roadmap.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains complex applications
  • Develops unit tests and provides code coverage to accurately test business logic and functionality
  • Participates in developing specifications such as user stories and designs
  • Solves or recommends solutions for complex issues and problems
  • Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications
  • Documents designs, issues, solutions, tips & tricks as needed
  • Fosters a team approach to software development and delivery
  • Stays current in new IT technologies to maintain a high level of subject matter expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Experience building web applications, using combinations of Typescript/JavaScript, PHP, Python
  • Strong SQL skills
  • API integration and/or development experience
  • Practical knowledge of REST and SOAP
  • Strong knowledge of GIT for version control and content deployment
  • Strong knowledge of *NIX shell scripting
  • Experience working with AWS Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare experience
  • Experience in TDD and writing unit tests
  • Experience working with CI/CD using Jenkins/AWS tools
  • Knowledge of Mulesoft and building integrations with Salesforce
  • Prior experience integrating with backend systems
  • Experience in Agile environments and methodologies
