Vendor Management/Contract Portfolio Manager

Salary: Competitive

Location: Remote (US-based)

The Contract Portfolio (Vendor Management) manager is responsible for assisting the Contract Portfolio Leader (Director) in the management of the large vendor relationships and will be accountable for a sub-portfolio of a portion of the portfolio of vendor relationships. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in vendor and stakeholder engagement, vendor governance, and contract negotiations and management
  • Conducts contract renewals maintenance for large vendors and leads same activities for their assigned vendor relationships
  • Provides expertise and leadership in the area of vendor management and related activities interacting regularly with senior or executive levels on matters concerning the business’s operations through regular contact with specified business unit designees
  • Be responsible for establishing, tracking and managing an ongoing methodology for the management and governance of contractual Service Levels. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) 
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a vendor management capacity
  • Proven experience managing/overseeing an annual operating budget of more than $75M
  • Experience with risk management methodologies and actual implementation of risk management strategies based on disciplined risk assessment
  • Experience with asset audits and establishing evergreen controls/capability, contract compliance and vendor management
  • Must possess strong communications skills and actively manage expectations and influences decisions in potentially difficult and mission-critical situations
  • Understand operational business requirements that necessitate staff augmentation or operational performance management
  • Strong organizational leadership skills, with proven ability to provide measurable, demonstrable improvement in asset operations
  • The ability to manage, influence peers, and senior management across the organization regarding the management of Contracts.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field
  • Staff and business process augmentation outsourcing experience 
  • Experience in Claims operations
